Hogwarts Boyfriends (houses explained!)

Canada - Hufflepuff

I know it might seem like a really cliché choice to put a nice, sweet character in Hufflepuff but I really think it’s what works for him the most. I personally see Hufflepuff as the melting pot of the other houses - those go here who don’t really fit into any of the other houses. Not because they lack bravery, wisdom or abition but because they are more diverse than to have only one defining trait.

Canada strikes me as the one who always wants to do the right thing and has a strong sence of justice, which is usually associated with Gryffindor but he’d also probably use brains over brawn, which is more Ravencrawl. He can also be manipulative and cunning (remember how he tricked America into reading England’s letter), which is a Slytherin trait. So instead of being in a house that only emphasizes a few traits, he’s in the one that values ALL talents.

Also, he’s definitely a peacekeeper and values kindness and selflessness above all things. Even though he hates fighting, he’s capable of standing up for himself and the ones he loves when needed. He’s also very hardworking but his insecurities get in his way sometimes.

Netherlands - Slytherin

Seriously, he’s like a textbook example of a Slytherin to me. Smart, cunning, ambitious, no-nonsense, can be stubborn but he knows when to take a step backwards if that’s what’s necessary to reach his goal. Netherlands is a businessman/merchant, so those traits really come in handy when he’s aiming to strike the best deal. 

He also doesn’t give a damn about what others think of him, he doesn’t want to be Mr. Popular, he just wants to do business. He does care about a few people though - his siblings and his close friends. He’s very loyal to them and is fiercly protective of them. He’s just very aloof and doesn’t show his feelings well, so he’s often misunderstood and is accused of being cold and uncaring.

Quidditch positions / Best Subjects

I see Netherlands as a keeper. His best subjects would be herbology, arithmancy and alchemy.

Canada would be a seeker. His best subjects are care for magical creatures, defence against the dark arts and transfiguration.

And for the record, I like to think Netherlands would be a pure-blood and Canada would be muggle-born.
